STDs are Scary So Read This
STD statistics show that there has been a steady rise of such cases not only in the United States but across the globe. With the rise of cases of syphilis in men and women, STD statistics just seems to get higher and highter. If it is not Syphilis, then the it is Chlamydia and gonorrhea that contributes a big part in the STD statistics as well.
The problem with STD statistics is that it is likely to be inaccurate. There are chances that the current STD statistics do not have a number of undetected cases because STDs like Chlamydia rarely develop symptoms. nevertheless the steady rise in the trend whether or not the figures are understated are frightening.
This does not change the fact that there are a lot of people, and the numbers are growing, who are suffering from chlamydia, syphilis and gonorrhea. For instance, ten years ago in the united States, there were more or less a million people documented to be suffering from Chlamydia. That number was obviously higher than the one that was recorded a year ago. Moreover, about 350,000 had gonorrhea in that same year. The number appears to grow higher each year.
Those numbers go to show that gonorrhea and chlamydia, by far, are the most wide spread of all STDs. Chlamydia may not easily manifest symptoms but can diagnosed easily. Gonorrhea, like chlamydia is also easy to be medically identified. The good thing is that these two diseases are curable especially after being detected early. There is a chance that these two STDs can lead to problems like infertility or PID in women if left untreated. Women may see more complications like ectopic pregnancy and chronic pelvic pain.
Chlamydia rarely leads to complications among man but they can be infected and this disease also cause infertility. Meanwhile, gonorrhea can lead to very serious complications in men. Not only does this disease put them at risk of infertility but they the infection can make its way to joints and the blood stream. There have been worst cases that end up in fatality.
What does this mean? This suggests that both women and men should be more aware of STDs than ever. The key to avoiding the spread of STD is awareness and at the same time it also help you know what steps you need to do if you get infected.
As the numbers on the STD statistics rise, so should the peoples need for safety practice. The statistic simple try to tell people to as much as possible avoid having multiple partners. It also helps to learn how to properly use a condom.
Get your self checked if you have someone new in your life. You will also need to see a doctor for screening if your partner has cheated or is cheating. if people help each other become more aware, the STD statistics will stop rising.
